Invited to collaborate with a small multimedia team on a special project, Canadians in Haiti: Stories of Loss and Remembrance. Interviewed friends and family of earthquake victims, primarily from francophone communities, and wrote lengthy profiles of each.

A page A1 story and video on the Paris "Bad Behavior" Brigade were among the most popular items that week on WSJ.com. A report on the proposed ban of the niqab in France made the front page of the European edition. Several articles were picked up by international press and republished in other languages. I wrote a cover story on musician Buck 65 for Exclaim Magazine, and a feature on commercial urban radio helped trigger a change in a Toronto-based station’s programming. An investigative piece on Greece's troubled border with Turkey was published in a Paris-based foreign affairs journal.

LANGUAGES || Native Portuguese speaker, proficient in French and Spanish, currently learning Arabic. I've worked as an interpreter (Portuguese and Spanish) for Toronto Community Housing Corporation, City of Toronto, and Schools Without Borders, and did extensive on-the-fly translation (French, Portuguese, Spanish) at AFP and France24.
