Born in the sticky summer heat of late August 1981, downtown Toronto. I'm multilingual, carry dual Portuguese-Canadian citizenship, and have spent much of the last decade based in the Maritimes, New York, Madrid, and Paris.

Light packer. Currently between hometowns.

My work has appeared internationally in major dailies, magazines, on news networks and radio, and I've reported from Canada, the United States, Portugal, Spain, France, Greece and South Africa. I hold a Double Master from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism and Sciences Po. Formerly a music critic, my focus has shifted to international affairs, human rights and the politics of migration. I'm fascinated by identity and borders, imagined or otherwise.

Collaborators, questions and conversation are always welcome, so please do get in touch.
